Goldmember

Holy crap, is that little Kevin Arnold from the ”Wonder Years” as the ”Mole” in the new ”Austin Powers Goldmember” Movie? Dude, Fred Savage hasn’t done anything in a while, has he? The last I saw him was in ”Boy Meets World” when he played his brother’s teacher and hit on Topanga. Weird.

Weird Dreams & Word of the Moment

Funny how weird some dreams are. Last night I dreamt I was in the MTV’s reality show ”WWF’s Tough Enough,” which is now WWE, don’t ask, I don’t know. Oddly enough, I was chosen for the final 15. Now, if you either known, seen, or met me you’d know I’m not a very big guy. So, I wonder in my dream how did I get so far in the competition. Then again it IS a dream. After the choosing of the final 15, we piled into this Eurovan to be sent to our home for the competition. It was very much like one of the houses you’d find in the real world. After a little mingling, I talk to an Asian guy about my age but MUCH stalkier. He seemed to fit in more than I did. WE talked about how we got so far in the competition and all I could say was, ”I don’t have a clue.” And somehow we got onto the subject of how I used to work for Compaq and I haven’t worked in like a year and a half. What was weird is that he said he worked at an Apple like 10 minutes from me. (I wonder if this was a ghost image of a guy I knew from kung fu named Romeo. Yes, it’s his real name, I saw it on his work name badge.) I went on to say how winning this would be real good for me since the 2 ”Tough Enough” champions get a contract to wrestle for the WWE. It would be VERY good for me financially is I won, and just as good if I didn’t win physically, since its basically a VERY tough (but free) work out training. I think that was the end of that dream. So, I dunno what happens next. Maybe I’ll find out later.

A second dream was where I was sitting in my house and all of a sudden from no where an asp bites me. Don’t know what an asp is? It’s some sort of snake. The only reason I know WTF an asp is, is because of stupid Everquest. Only, this asp looked like a cobra. I was afraid to call 911 because I didn’t want them to yell at me for it not being an emergency, but then my sister yelled at me, ”If this isn’t an emergency, I don’t know what one is!” Maybe, but maybe I could have called some kind of animal control or something. As long as I didn’t have to call 911, I was ok. The crazy thing is, after it bit me, it escaped and slithered somewhere around the house and as the dream ended I didn’t find out where that damn snake went.

Funny how the mind just f’cks with you.

Everquest Auctions

Ok, I’ll admit it. My only ”illegal” activity online is selling Everquest stuff online. Perhaps no more, however. The site I do my transactions with has cancelled my account because I wrote my email address on the auctions. OOOOOO scary! They made it seem worse than kiddie porn, WTF? Do I bend over and take it? Hell no. I write them a semi-nasty letter that’s SO, long (ok, maybe not so long) they’ll probably never read it, delete it, and never respond. I may be wrong, and I hope so for their sake. Not that I can do anything about it…

Printers Suck… No, Vacuums Do. Printers Spit Out Pages.

My Lord! I’m printing out some ”important documents,” really TOP SECRET about Memento. It’s about 9 pages long. My printer has taken like 30 minutes. WTF!? I need to get a new laser-jet-super-duper-mondo-fast printer they got out there now-a-days. Sad ’cause I basically JUST opened this printer. Then again I think I got this printer free like 2 or 3 years ago when I bought the laptop. You get what you pay for, right? I suppose a nifty-new printer will have to wait. Getting income is the key. Damn you, economy!

Memento & the Twins

Ok, I know, it’s about time! Yesterday – I suppose it was the day before – ok , Saturday I finally got to see the ever famous movie Memento.

If you haven’t seen the movie or read the book (I think it was based on a book), and intend on doin so, don’t bother reading further. I hate it when people ruin movies for me too…

This movie has been out a long while now, and I’ve even heard so many conversations about from different circles, but have never been able to experience it until now. I’m glad I did. It’s kinda funny when you watch it, every 10 mintues or so, you think you’ve solved the murder mystery, but then a small detail messes up your whole idea of the truth only to make you think about it again. At least that’s how I felt about it. Even with my analitical mind and attention to detail, this movie left me with thoughts of, now wait a minute…

I managed to find a page from Salon.com that actually trys to explain it all. But, it’s only one persons opinion on the movie, so there’s no need for flame to me or the writer.

So, my question to you, since I know many people I know have already seen it before me, and are probably bored of this subject (judging from how many times I’ve heard this movie talked about at social gatherings before today), What REALLY happened?

So, here’s what I got out of the movie… 2 coked up thugs break in and rape Leonard’s wife, but doesn’t kill her. He shoots one guy and saves her before being smacked in the head himself by a second intruder causing this disability he endures. Leonard suffers from a disease where he has no short term memory. He ends up killing his own wife with the insulin. He escapes the insane asylum. ”Teddy,” a cop, helps him track and kill the second assailant. Important clues he tattoos on his body. Natalie realizes he has killed her boyfriend, but for some reason sleeps with him (I’m not sure it’s sexual or not) and helps him find his ”killer” who ends up being Teddy; which at the end we find out that Leonard, himself, set him up. Then again… Maybe Natalie didn’t know Leonard killed her boyfriend. Because she said a ”Teddy” he was to meet him. And then again… why would Leonard be in her boyfriend’s car and clothes and Natalie not think anything of it? Odd…

On a side story, this Sammy Jenkins… This confuses me. This is where a fellow named Sammy Jenkins trys to claim insurance, but Leonard thinks it’s not physical but rather mental (or was it the other way around?) and denies him insurance. Frustrated, his wife goes ”crazy” and as a routine she has Sammy give her her insulin shot for her diabetes. Only this time, she see’s if he really was faking and sets the watch back and asks for another one, and again for the third time. She goes into a coma and never breaks out.

But, then scrambled in the movie are very short clips of random thoughts like Sammy in the insane asylum, and flashes Leonard in Sammy’s place as if he were in the asylum. Then there’s a flash where you see Leonard pinch his wife’s leg, and then after ”Teddy’s” coaxing it flashes again, only to be changed to Leonard giving her an insulin shot. So was it Sammy who killed his wife (”Teddy” claims Sammy never had a wife) or did Leonard kill his wife? Was Sammy’s life just really a reflection on his own with some truth to what he did to Sammy? Yet another puzzler, we see a shot of Leonard sitting with his wife, who seems alive and well, and he has a tatto on his chest which reads ”John G. raped and murdered my wife.” Now was that a reality or was that a dream? Did I miss anything? So confused…

SEGUE

Saturday night I got to see my baby twin cousins from Hawaii, I haven’t seen them in a while. They can hold their bottles by themselves now! They’re going to be a year old in October, so old! Stay young while you can!

Whelp, tomorrow, more fiberglass and bondo-ing. I haven’t mentioned anything about my little project online, I have my reasons. Everyone seems to want my non-existant pile of money…

Hair & PPG

So, yeah, I have scruffy @$$ hair. I REALLY need a hair cut badly. However, I’m trying to get a new style of hair for myself. I’m going for the cool FOB look with longer hair and highlights. I’m basing this off a guy in one of my current favorite movies, Gen-X Cops, a really cool Hong Kong flick. If you like HK movies, this one is a must see.

Wheee!!! I got to see the Powerpuff Girls Movie Wednesday! It was basically a long version of a pilot episode of the show. But, it was great! Hehe, I think Bubbles is the cutest! As you might have noticed from iCHAOSi.com. I wanna meet Tara Strong, the voice of Bubbles.Throughout the movie, many girls ooooh and aawwww at every cutesy part. Sure it’s cute, and sure I was doing it too, but it gets old. What I found funny was the fact that some voices in the crowd sounded older, like mothers even. Oh well, PPG is for everyone, not just for girls. And even if it was marketed for girls, that hasn’t stopped me from watching a cartoon. see: Sailor Moon *blush* I was really pissed off that they wasted ~10 minutes of my life with a Dexter’s Laboratory short. 1. I hate that toon. (sorry for those who like it, just my opinion) 2. I didn’t pay to see it. 3. There’s better toons to show. 4. I hate that toon. I think I’d rather see a Samurai Jack short or something.

Stranger From The Past

Holy crap! I just saw Mr. Hunter, our old P.E. teacher from Jr. High, at Safeway. I haven’t seen him in like AGES! I don’t think he remembered me, I didn’t expect him to. It’s been a whole what 10 or so years. Although he used to call me ”Alan,” when I gave him my name he said, ”I remember you, I haven’t seen you since you were this big. You’re all grown up now!”

I guess he was just talking about my age. I suppose I’m taller than I was in Jr. High, probably more wide. Grown up? No way! I’m still as much of a kid as I ever was. Mr. Hunter was one of the coolest teachers to ever have. He’s a legend in our neck of the woods. He’s my ”Mr. Feeny.” (From Boy Meets World A show almost as good as The Wonder Years) He taught us all alot about how to be strong Too bad he retired. Now, all that’s left is a myth; blood days, his stories of being thrown from a car and did a hunter and rolled to safety, crab walking the track, ”no, no, knucklehead!” all now just stories. Mr. Hunter, this one’s for you! Thanks for all the knowledge you bestowed upon us.

Weekend Update w/Adam Wong

Ok, so I didn’t really do much this weekend. I did visit my grandmother in the rehab type hospital twice. I worked on her fence back at her house. I managed to step on a rusty nail with my left foot and had my Uncle rush me to a hospital. I didn’t know when my last tetanus shot was, my mom thought it was 5 years ago. So, to be safe I got one anyway. I think they said you need to have one ever 10 years. So, now, I have a small limp on my left side, and my arm is REALLY sore. Like as if yesterday I lifted weights or something. SORE!

Night At The Movies

Friday night at about 9PM I went with moO, my sister and Ronny to the drive-in. Holy crap, the drive-in? How long ago have you last been to the drive-in? The last time I went to the drive in was when I was like six years old. We took separate cars ’cause we didn’t want to sit in the back since it’d be hard to see. Good thing too because we wanted to see different movies and was able to .

So, we started out the night with Minority Report. PG-13 2 hr. 24 min. Wow, that was actually worth the money! Go see it! Spoiler? Click & Drag Heh, this will show up on iCHAOSi.com but not on GotAdam.com…. What bothered me was the fact that the title was Minority Report and when it came down to it, the Minority Report either didn’t exist, or wasn’t really even important to the story. I suppose it was important, just not used… Overall a really kick @$$ movie!

Second, we saw Scorpion King PG-13 1 hr. 29 min. Great action, ok story, GREAT actors… Ok, not the acting itself, as the dialogue came up a little short (it was an action movie, for goodness sakes). I’m sure the story itself is made up with the action… AND the actors. Primarily Kelly Hu… I guess the Rock too. Probably not winning any academy awards with this one, but hey, thumbs up!

We drove over to see Bourne Identity PG-13 1 hr. 58 min. I felt I was let down tremendously with this one. I mean it was a good idea, but the actual movie itself fell short of a good movie. I really believed it was gonna be a good one, but after we left it, I felt that it was too repetitive. He ran, they’d find where he was, he ran to find a new place to hide, they find him, and so on. I felt that the writers couldn’t really get a good end to the whole redundancy and it kept going on and on. However, the end was a good one. See it if you have spare time.

Ok, as you might have guessed. We did some theatre hopping. Seeing 3 movies in one sitting is really taxing on a body. At the end of the night it was about 4 am. That’s about 7 hours of sitting. I had a HUGE headache while driving home. It felt like a bad hangover. Overall, Minority Report – A, Scorpion King – B+, Bourne Identity – C+
