The Bad News: We’re playing the same team we lost to yesterday…

I don’t want to talk about it. But, does it matter?

Edited 3/10/2003 3:51PM Yesterday wasn’t such a good day for hockey. My brother got shutout 2-0, the Sharks got shutout 3-0 and we got shutout 5-0.

Early yesterday morning I went to my brothers game, only to see them lose. But, my brother’s excuse was that he didn’t play because he has a bruised kidney. Although, his coaches and my dad was going to let him play the last 5 minutes. But, his team kept messing up and getting penalties creating powerplays for the other team, and didn’t allow Phillip on the ice.

Immediately after the game they had a practice on the same ice. So I geared up and had a scrimmage with them. That was fun, because I knew most of the guys because of the Washington trip and they wanted a go against me. Nick wanted badly to drop the gloves and go at it, but I had to be on his team. I guess we could have done it anyway. While on the ice in the scrimmage, Phillip kept reminding me that I had a game later, and that I should stop or I’d get tired in my game. Surprisingly enought, I didn’t really stop playing in the scrimmage, but I didn’t even really get tired in my game either! I must be getting more and more used to stress on my lungs, YAY.

Our game was the sh’ttiest game we’ve played, and it seemed like we gave up too early. So, in the first period (early in the period) a goal was scored on us. It was a really lame goal too, our guy was pushed into our goalie and the goal was pushed off the pins in the ice, and the puck went past the line and the goal was awarded. This already soured our game, and pretty much left us not wanting to bother (since we knew how this stupid game was going to be officiated by these A-hole zebra police.) 1st period I had some good speed on a defenceman and he hooks me and I fly. I finish the check because he has the puck andwe both get a penalty. That was f’cking lame.

I managed to block another shot in my ”offensive-butterfly” but it my arm, I don’t have a bruise yet, but it still hurts, and I’m sure it’ll show up soon. My brother told me I was stupid for going down into the butterfly to block a shot. But I said that it was dumb to stand up straight to block a shot, and that I could block a more area in the butterfly than if I were to stand up straight. I’m not afraid of getting hit with the puck. Maybe I’ll learn when I really get hit. LOL

Then in the 3rd period a mini-scrum breaks out in our end, and at the same time my dad’s cousin Gary (who’s on my team) is pushed by someone on the other team, and the ref calls them both in addition to the ones in the mini-scrum. The ref didn’t even look at Gary and the other guy. He only saw Gary get pushed. Stupid Refs.

You can tell I’m bored when…

It’s kind of sad, and in a way kinda scary, that so many people have machines guns… OOOOOOO There was an M16A2 there (I think), I want one =(. So it’s true, when a bullet flies through the air, you can see light fly by…

Ah, what to say? Today, I went to Santa Cruz with some blokes from the ol’ kung fu studio. I got a brand new Tippman 98 Custom, nice accurate marker. Just need a little boost for accuracy and distance, need to look for a good barrel. But, STILL a really good marker. It was a pretty long drive over the hill, longer than I remember. I haven’t been paintballing in like 8-9 years OR MORE. I don’t remember when it was, maybe it was jr. high school. Ah it was fun today. Getting hit, hitting people. We went to TAG in Santa Cruz, which has 2 speedball and 3 woods. But, today it was mostly speedball. No matter how much fun we had, I think we’d all agree, we could have used more woods games. My theory was that since there was a tournament next week at TAG, they put out a lot of speedball games for teams to practice (Since the tourney games at TAG are speedball games and not woods.). The second game we took the wrong way to the other side of the field and got stuck in a foot of mud. The mud literally gobbled up my leg. The other guys got wet in their shoes, I guess I got a little more lucky, no water in my shoes. LOL, only 4 of us (3 of us and some 1 random guy) were stupid enough to go that way. Good thing we didn’t take my car up there… Sorry, Mom. J/K It was already dry and no mud in the car. Luckly, none of us got any poison oak. That woulda sucked. Woods it really fun, played a bunch of kill, flag, and VIP. Wheee CS & Socom. LOL, it’s all Chris’ fault. He and I had a short conversation about paintball, and it turned into a huge conversation, then he got me hooked. Now I have a gun, and I got Kyle hooked, and he bought a gun on Friday. Both Shane and Anthony are hooked. Hey, we could get a team going! Heh. We’ll see, we definetly ain’t that good yet. Some of us was the first time out. Sponsorship and prize money DO sound good tho… Too bad the ones at TAG are speedball tourneys. One thing lame about TAG is they’re REALLY HARDCORE CHRISTIAN. And there’s NO cussing. You get 1 Warning and then your gone. LAME. Oh well, still there’s a bunch of kids there, so, whatever… Come play with us sometime! We’ll have a blast. And don’t believe the word-of-mouth, it doesn’t REALLY hurt, unless you’re a girl! Muahahahah just kidding… Sorta… It stings for a second, but when you wipe it off, it’s game time.

As you can see on the scoreboard on the top of this post, we lost again. But, not my much, we were still really in it, just couldn’t convert to goals. Stupid Adam decides to take a nap after the long day of running up and down the hill paintballing, that he oversleeps… Damnit, I’m so stupid. I missed the first half of the first period. AND! AND, the first minute I get on the ice, I get a slashing penalty. Supposedly, I basically took a bad ”slapshot” to clear the puck and I hit the other guy’s stick. Um, but 1. My stick wasn’t cocked over my waist, B. the guy was bigger than me, and 3. He skated through my stick, he didn’t stumble or fall, wasn’t even fazed by my supposed ”slash” fugger refs. THE FIRST MINUTE I GOT ON THE ICE, DAMNIT. I had only one really good chance with a break-away and I got hooked from behind. I was so pissed, I wanted to score, not draw penalty. I was bummed I came in late, ’cause I had enough rest from that nap I took after paintball. I had too much left over stamina that I tried to waste the last 2 minutes of the game. It didn’t help any =(. Our next game is THE BIGGEST GAME, I would say almost bigger than playoffs. Why? Next game we need 1 point to be in the playoffs. However, we’re playing the first place team… Odds don’t look good. You know I’ll be on the treadmill a lot this week, or at Hockey Workout. Hrm, I wonder if I can rally some spectators, I need some cheering for this game!

LOL, I was watching D2, the Mighty Ducks 2, and I noticed that I have the same number as the only Asian kid on the team. It means absolutely nothing to anyone, even me. But, I just thought it was funny. Oh, and DUH, hes from San Francisco in the movie…

On an unrelated subject, other than hockey and the Mighty Ducks, the Asian boy was a figure skater. WTF is with that? Oh so only the little Asian boy would be a figure skater?! They have girls playing hockey, and the Asian boy a figure skater? Dang. When will Asians get the good roles, instead of gay, bad guys, or whatnot?

This is just SAD, I don’t know if this was real or a REAL bad dive. For $900k, hell, I be in the ring with anyone for 1 punch and take a dive too.

Sports figures, especially ice hockey players and boxers (ESPECIALLY Tyson), shouldn’t be allowed to talk after the event. I have a clip of the interview of Tyson after the fight, but I don’t care to waste the bandwith on that crap, LOL. But it’s still funny to hear him talk. Anyone interested should hit up KaZaA and look for filename: ”TYSON VS ETIENNE (Feb 22).wmv”. It’s good for a laugh and cry at America…
