In case I didn’t tell anyone, if you remember me from high school, you might recall a hairdo that was in with some Asian guys. Yes, I sported it back then. And, hell, I’ve even changed my hair to it now. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Well, no longer is it the days of the F.O.B. hair. Out with the old and in with the… older. LOL. Maybe I can bring it back. Too bad with this hair it makes me look more Viet. I’m not tho, mind you. The good thing is, the visual effect makes my face look thinner. So I dropped a few pounds from my face, yay. Still don’t know what I’m talking about? Find a ’96 Lynbrook H.S. yearbook and find out for yourself. I’m sure I have a Senior pic archived somewhere. Or, just stick around maybe you’ll notice it on my webcam, if i ever decide to use it.

Sick + Hockey Monday & ”The Getaway”.
RIGHT after I left moO’s house I felt my throat getting really sore, like REALLY fast. Usually, if I get a sore throat it’s usually in the morning to give it a little time to come, but this hit me hard and fast. I didn’t know how I was going to survive tonight’s game…
We took the lead really early in the game, but soon after it was taken away. I hate it when it happens. For the most part of the game it was all even up 1-1. I managed to get another 3min penalty for slashing. I took my stick and hit the other player’s stick, and I was called for that. My stick wasn’t even high up in the air to get a good hit on the stick. I don’t even believe that he dropped his stick. So, I don’t know how I got that penalty.
But, the highlight of the game was when there was a REAL fight in front of our net. You almost NEVER see one of these in an adult league like ours. But it was totally NHL quality, INCLUDING BLOOD! ๐ Too bad it was our guy who spilt it. Sucks that he’s suspended for a game for fighting.
Somewhere in the 3rd period, moO came and watched. YAY. But, I still didn’t score. My excuse is: 1. she came late and I was already tired and B. I’m sick. Harhar ๐ My theory still isn’t flawed
I was a little worried we had to settle for a tie. It sucks when the whole game is tied at 1-1, or any number. But in the last couple minutes our 1st line takes it to the net and scores a goal creating a lead 1-2. Shortly after the other team pulls their goalie allowing us to score the ‘nail in the coffin”. Oh, it’s beautiful!
Basically, I was pretty much useless this game, being sick and all. I did manage to pump enough adrenaline to keep moving though. But, I felt it bad when I sat on the bench idle. I could feel myself kind of dosing off. But, hell, I’m not going to miss a game just ’cause I got a little sore throat.
So, Saturday, Shia and I played a little ”Getaway” on the PS2. It’s seems like a cheap wanna-be ”Grand Theft Auto,” in a way yes, and in others no. My first impression of the game was that it completely sucked. There was no fancy GUI, no controller setup, no map. You’re stuck in London alone to find your Wife’s killers and Son’s kidnappers. The way this differs from GTA3 is that it follows a story, completely. The way it’s really similar is that you kill tons of people and steal cars when the one you just wrecked is inadequate. I hate games that don’t let you change the control, ESPECIALLY the damn vertical axis. I don’t use reversed, I like having up up and down to be down. I’m not flying a plane here, I’m shooting a gun. What, when I point a gun at a something, do I think move my hand down to point it upwards? No, up is up and down is down. Stupid games. However, after figuring out some of the little quirks of the game (one important thing is to lean up against a wall to replenish health) I was hooked. I hope this isn’t what I’ll be playing with my days of nothingness. Lately, I’ve been catching myself trying to speak in the British accent. It’s kinda funny, kinda sad in a way.
Network Adapter Woes
Ok, so I decided to forget the 3rd party USB Network adapter and just go with the Sony PS2 Adapter NOT from Toys-R-Us. I bought it at Electronic Boutique for the regular price + $5 for a damn extended warranty that allows me to exchange it up to 4 times within a certain amount of time if it ever breaks. Even if it never breaks again, I decided to get the warranty because with my luck, Murphy’s Law never works in my favor. So I brought it home and installed it, and so far it works without a hitch, that’s the good thing. The BAD thing is: my Socom headset stopped working now. So, today I called up Sony to have the old network adapter and the headset fixed. Luckily, they’re both under warranty. So, I can just send it to San Mateo and within 7-10 business days I have it fixed, YAY. So, now WTF am I supposed to do without a Socom headset for 7-10 business days?
A Little Oddity [MP3] [Link]
I don’t know how the hell I got there, but I managed to find a weblog where he recorded his friend playing CS and swearing at the game and made it into a techno song. It’s so friggin’ funny, and I don’t know why
Check it out for yourself. Warning: Bad words! LOTS! Get your mommy’s permission before listening!
The original post can be found at: http://www.gaijin.com/. What made me LOL was the little IM session toward the bottom of the page where they forsee their friend becoming famous because of this, calling him the ”god f*ck sh*t god f*cking damn it” guy. LOL
No Work and Sony PS2 Network Adapter CRAP!
Yay, I guess… My temp job ended yesterday, and the first thing my sister says is, ”What are you going to do with your useless life now?” Sad but true, she’s right on the money. I don’t know. I can’t even play Socom all day, but that’s another story… Sometimes it sucks moving from place to place. But, in a way I kind of like it. I like learning a bunch of stuff. Now that I’ve had this job, building trays (Yes, Belle, I build trays… I know I don’t explain myself very well most of the time, but come on. ๐ , I can say I’ve pretty much done it all. I’m still waiting on NASA to make their decision for me being the next astronaut in space, and Lockheed for that Rocket Scientist position. What puzzles me most is, the last question asked of me before I left the Sleep Clinic was, ”Are you married?” LOL, I get that a lot. Mostly because of the 24k gold ring I wear on my RIGHT ring finger. (My second ring, I might add). I just say no, not yet. And pretty much leave it as that.
So, yeah. I’m not buying my PS2 Network Adapters from Toys-R-Us anymore. I had another one fail, making it my 3rd one in 2 months. They actually let me return it for a full refund. I still have one that I have to send to Sony to be repaired since it’s passed the 30 days for the return or exchange. I might end up buying one of those USB network adapters people talk about. There’s a 3rd party adapter that claims to be FOR the PS2, plus it’s cheaper so maybe I’ll give that a stab. What do I got to lose? Damn you, Sony, for rushing out those adapters!!!

Stupid Adam…
OK, I’ve now done two stupid things related to elevators.
A couple weeks ago I was leaving work and got into the elevator, when I got in I pressed ”3”. The elevator door doesn’t close. I’m like, ”What the hell?” I proceed to pound on the button several more times, and still the door stays open. It then occurs to me that I AM on the friggin’ 3rd floor. Sheepishly, I press the 1st floor button and the door closes. Luckily, no one was around to see that.
Being the normal ADHD child I am, I don’t pay attention very good some times. Today, I’m going downstairs on the elevator to move my car. I press the correct button this time. Then the elevator dings for my floor. As I get out I almost run into this girl who’s getting on. I make my way to the exit door, and to my surprise it isn’t there. Thinking I was probably sidetracked by almost running into that girl, I thought maybe I took a wrong turn somewhere. Walking around the floor for about 5 minutes, I realize I’m on the second floor! I should have realized it when I first noticed there was no door. It isn’t hard to get to the exit, I would just make two immediate rights and down the hall I should see the door. Stupid Adam…
Hockey Monday + Shopping
Making our record 4-8-4, we are undefeated in 4 games! Sure two of them were ties, but they’re still points. I managed to stay positive in my +/-. We started the game with an early goal. I got in front of their goalie creating a great screen allowing a good shot by our center. But were quickly, kicked to the ground with 2 unanswered goals by the opposing team. We see-sawed points until the end where it ended 3-3. I had a pretty cool tip where I stood in front of the goal with the blade of my stick angled just right, it came right up as a perfect shot to the right crossbar, but right into the goalie’s glove. Pooh, I’m in a scoring slump. ๐ I gotta score soon. I was really wired in the game, ’cause for a while I was +2! but then my line was scored on making it a final +/- score of +1. I guess it’s better than my usual -2 or so.
Did I mention I almost missed my game? I was out shopping with moO, we were out looking for stuff, and I forgot my game was at 7:45. For some reason I kept thinking it was at 9. So we were out at Linens ‘n Thinks looking for a bed table, and they were sold out. Damn, it was only $4 there and my sister bought the last one before I could get to it. Good thing too, she was disappointed with the quality, supposedly it didn’t come with screws to put it together. I went across the street to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to look for a similar product. All I could find is a $29 look-a-like. So we bought it. Cool too, it was pre-built. While there, I bought a jar of fake AMINAL crackers. Yesh, I say AMINAL. AMINALS are yummy. Why did I say fake? It isn’t the Barnum’s Animal Crackers (I think it’s Barnum’s), Barnum’s is better, but these knock-offs aren’t so bad, quite nummy.
So… I have 2 weeks to find moO a b-day present. WTF? How do I not know what to get someone I’ve known for 7 years? Anyone have any good ideas? Hahahah If she finds out I got something someone else recommends, she’d probably be mad. Maybe if it cost enough it wont matter =P… Still thinking…
Wednesday Hockey Rematch!
Let me just start with… WE WON ANOTHER ONE!!! AND we managed to actually play the WHOLE 3 periods! I actually found my place in this league. I can’t score goals in this league. I’m the instigator. Of course, I don’t actually start fights and get the ”instigator” penalties, but I do stir up some crazy trouble with the other team. And every time I draw a penalty, I skate to my bench with a big smile on my face. Take today for instance, on Wednesday I already drew 3 penalties from this team + kicking out a player from their team (also causing him not to play this game either), but today I drew and extra 2. On the second penalty I was ahead with the puck and a guy comes from behind. Sensing I can’t do anything I slowed down and he grabs me and I fall to the ground causing my second draw. The goalie bitches that it was a dive, so I go up to him and ask him, ”You have a problem?” blah blah, seconds later I have another guy up in my face, ”What’s with the f’king dive you sh’t, etc…” To which I reply, ”What? I can’t hear you. Huh? What?” hoping a ref would hear and issue an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. I’m SO mature. =) Too bad, all I could draw was the holding penalty. My mom said my team was yelling my name to get me to go to the bench and not start any fights, but I’m smarter than that. I just like to talk crap and try to draw something extra. =) So, I just skate to my bench with a big smile on my face. And the greatest thing about it is that we converted it into point! Although I didn’t score the winning goal, I DID draw the penalty for the chance. I guess that’s as good as it gets for now. After the power play our offensive first line scored the ”nail in the coffin” making it 1-3, winning the game which doubles out wins for a record of 4-8-3. Not the greatest, but we’re getting better. Hey, we’re undefeated in 3 game! YAY us!
Now on the bad side. I had a couple REALLY good scoring chances, but couldn’t get it into the net. On was a huge break away, but while dekeing I mishandled the puck and lost it. I should have pulled the trigger earlier. I did manage to get 3 shots. But, obviously didn’t get it in. I think I’m due for a goal soon. Maybe next time!
Hockey… Wednesday?
So, why the heck does Adam have hockey on Wednesday? Well, if you had paid attention and read the webcalendar on the right, or hover the ”Hover for hockey standings.” link, you’d know that I had my rescheduled HP Pavillion game today. Yes, it’s where the Sharks play. So, when I stepped on the ice, it was one of the best ice I’ve EVER seen. The Sharks always complain about how crappy the ice is. At first I was like bah, I’ll skate on it EVERYDAY! Then I thought, well if you have a fan packed sellout crowd in the stands, that’s a lot of body heat to melt the ice. So, I guess their condensers are messed up or something.
On to the game. You’d think that of all odds, we’d win one even by accident. Well, today was our day, starting right from the gates we were up 0-2 somewhere in the last two periods we let one by making it 2-1. And that’s the score it would stay. WE WIN! YAY making our pathetic record 3-8-3. I managed to stay even in the +/- but with a score 2-1, I’d have to feel bad if I was negative. I SHOULD have been positive, but I couldn’t get the puck at the back of the net. I had plenty of chances, just couldn’t convert it.
Somewhere in the mixed, I managed to draw 3 of the 4 penalties ( ”drawing penalties” is when someone on the other gets a penalty and you’re the one they ”attack,” therefore, you draw the penalty.) on was when I was in front of the opposing goal and I was cross checked.
The second penalty was when an opponent and I were skating to the corner, I’m in front of him, I fall to the ground, I get up, and the guy behind me falls and somehow, he’s like wrapped around my legs, all of a sudden I get checked from behind my head hits the boards. He gets a 5 minute major penalty for intent to harm and gets ejected from the game. Shortly after the hit on me, my winger retaliates and gets a 3 minute minor (what a guy!) so for 3 minutes we’re 4 on 4 and after we get a 2 minute power play, and if I recall correctly, we scored on that ”power play”. But after that hit I don’t remember much…
The third penalty was behind the opposing teams goal, I have the puck trying for a wrap around, and I get high-stacked. Wheeee. I hope they don’t record who draws the penalties. I’ve drawn a lot of penalties, not only in this league, but all the time. Heh, this was the second person I got kicked out of the game. The other one was when I was back in the Ice Oasis.
All in all, I have to say it was a good game… finally. I think it would have been better if I could have gotten some points, either goals or assists, I’d take it. There’s always this Sunday, where oddly enough we’re playing the same team! Lame how they schedules it. Well, anyway, if anyone wants to check out the REMATCH, its Sunday @ 9 at Logitech Ice in San Jose, it’s where the Sharks practice!
