Er, um, Carls Jr. has a Low Carb 6 Dollar Burger. It has NO bun, just a few pieces of lettuce making it like a ”wrap”. How weird. Must be that whole ”looking out for America’s weight” thing going around.

Many people ask me if I’m afraid of the whole ”mad cow disease” thing everyone’s talking about, especially after last weeks one pound burger at Redrum Burger. I say, hrm, no, why, should I be? Shia claims I have a higher chance of dying from a heart attack from eating all those burgers than contracting mad cow disease. Sad but true.

I suspect that the HP Pavillion is rigged. Last year was my first year to play at the ”tank,” and if I remember correctly it ALSO ended in a tie. Odd thing is, the game before us also ended in a tie. Maybe its the whole ”have fun” element. You can’t win or lose at the HP Pavillion, just have fun. LOL.

Letting in two shots in the middle of the second period hurt us pretty bad, but it was no reason to give up. In the third, James was awarded the first goal to keep us in the game then another D man, Brian, scored another to tie the game.

On a side note, the HP Pavillion was not build with short people in mind. My first step onto the ice from the locker rooms was a step with a good foot and a half drop onto the ice where I landed with a face plant and I layed there for a few minutes in my stupidness. Getting on and off the bench was also no picnic. I’d have to jump up a foot to reach my leg over the bench wall to be able to get over it.

Strange hockey schedules. Last month we only had a few games, then had the holiday break. This month we only have 3 games then a 2 week break, how lame. Gotta keep in shape while there’s no hockey. Hrm… good thing there aren’t any games tho, as I’ll be in Colorado YAY! The end.

Holy crap, Anita Mui, known in HK as a great singer and equal actress, passed away due to complications of cervical cancer at age 40. She has played roles beside other greats like Jackie Chan and Chow Yun Fat. She had starred in some 50+ great movies from somewhere around 1984 until 2002. Two of my favorite starring her is Miracles and Drunken Master 2 (AKA in America as just ”Drunken Master”). I’m sure she will be surely missed. Anita Mui Films.

After a period of a very even game, it was quickly taken away LATE in the second period… oh say the last 20 seconds of the game when a miscall of a certain penalty was called. At first they were called for a penalty then somehow an opposite penalty was called reversing the last penalty. Joey B. was called for a Roughing call, but the other Ref agreed with us (after the fact) since Joe was up against the boards, there shouldn’t have been a call. However it was too late because we didn’t actually heatfully debate this issue until the end of the period which I might add was AFTER a goal was scored against us 3 seconds after the f’ked up penalty was called. Did that make sense? okok. 0:20 left penalty on us… BOOO!!!, 0:07 they score, 0:00 we bitch. Perhaps we should have disputed the call well before the 3 seconds passed, and I’m sure despite the 1 crap goal was scored, we should have still kept our heads in the game. I don’t know what happened out there, be it holidays still in our head or the fact that we haven’t had a game in a while, we just didn’t play out A game out there. Well, hopefully we’ll get out game back for tomorrow as we have a game at the HP Pavilion at 10:00. Don’t be f’kin late. I might be HAR. j/k I hope not…

You’re probably wondering, WTF has Adam gone to? Probably not, but if your answer was ‘yes’, let me recap. Last week me and the buds and some newish ones made our way to the slopes up at North Lake Tahoe. moO, Jesse, Shia and I stopped in Davis to pick up Belle and Char and made our way to Heavenly for some quick skiing before going to the timeshare. Belle was already starting to get sick so she and Jesse stayed in the lodge. Up there we met up with Evan and grabbed our boards and hit the powder. Wheee… Shortly after leaving Heavenly, Evan took the long way home to the L.A. area, crazy, man…

Unfortunately, after we reached our timeshare the sickiness spread. Jesse, Shia and moO all got sick some longer than others. This weird epidemic got so bad, Shia took Belle to the hospital. Only a kidney infection. I say ‘only’ because doctors are stupid and it turned out to be something like pneumonia or something like that. She’s better now, that’s cool. I think everyone is now, for the most part.

The 29th while Belle was resting up at the timeshare, we picked up Jesse and Shia’s friend, Ashley, and went to Reno. While there we met up with Hassan, for some gambling. Since I’ve never been gambling I felt a little reluctant about putting any money out. But I figured, I’m on ‘vacation’… (from what I don’t know) and decided a simple $20 loss wouldn’t be so bad. I handed moO the last $11 in cash I had left and we all played at a Pai Gao table at Cal-Neva (except for Jesse and Ashley, Jesse took her went to see a movie ’cause she was under age, heh.). Pai Gao seems like an easy game. I totally didn’t notice the $5 minimum, but I just played anyway. In the end I came up with and extra $25, moO came out with $30 something, Char and Shia were down a little, and Hassan the big winner with $70 something. After the Pai Gao table we went wandering the casinos looking for a happening craps table. After we found one, I just watched, and lucky so, ’cause Shia lost more and Hasan lost about half of what he was up with in what seemed like seconds. It wasn’t ’cause we were there for a while. But the game is SO fast paced time flew. It’s so fast I don’t think I can follow all that. I’ll just stick to Pai Gao, heh. Oh yeah, I can’t forget about the pizza and beer. Yes, Adam doesn’t drink beer. So, I gave it to moO to drink. But, I kept sipping on it reminding me why I don’t like beer.

On the 30th, Paris, Jen, Lil, and Chrissie met up with us to spend a night in the timeshare. I must say it was a challenge fitting 10 people in a 1 bedroom, 1 bath, 1 living space (total 2 “beds”) timeshare. We managed somehow. The next morning we left the timeshare and drove to southshore where Belle made reservations for us all. On New Year’s Eve Ernie and Mike came up for a visit. And WOW can Mike drink. I actually saw him make a screwdriver with a full glass of vodka and a splash of orange juice, crazy. Sadly, shortly after the ball dropped half of the party went to sleep.

On the way back home we stopped off in Davis to drop of most of the party and to get some long overdue food. We stopped over at Murder Burger or maybe it’s Redrum Burger now, whatever. Anyway, I bought moO chicken strips and I got the 1 POUNDER. Yes, that’s ONE POUND of beef in a bun, net weight I suppose. Imagine one of those Carl’s Jr. $6 burgers, then thing $10. 2 halved buns, 2 big BIG beef patties, a bunch of shredded lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, mustard, and bacon (the good kind, not the yucky fatty kind). Little did I know that both our meals came with fries, so we had 2 big things of fries I had to finish too. However, I managed to finish the HUGE burger, but left much of the fries. I did take it home and the fries disappeared quickly, but not by anyone in my family, but by the beached whale of a dog.

I’m not sure we did much the past week, but I know most of us had a good time, just hanging out with a bunch of cool people. Well, we all managed to survive (with a few sickies) a couple snow storms and lived to tell about it. Thanks for a great New Years ski trip, all… So, what did you do this New Years?

Is it just me or in the Dell commercial where there’s a drill instructor teaching people how to buy a computer at some boot camp, one of the operators is (or looks like) one of the guys from Better Luck Tomorrow?

Great last game of the year. Took the lead early and really kept at it. Useless Sean managed a 3 penalty game. HA j/k but it’s true. On the other side of the coin, they had 10 penalties including a 10 minute misconduct for shooting/clearing the puck after (WAY after) the whistle, or was that the unsportsmanlike? Whatever.

I had quite a few chances, and I don’t EVEN want to talk about the last, say, 15 seconds of the game… NEVER. Lately, anytime I shoot the puck there’s this magnetic pull that pulls the puck STRAIGHT to the goalie’s chest pad. WTF is with that? I can’t even have ice time to practice thanks to Hockey Workout closing. Damnit. I hope I don’t have leftover ice time or skate sharpening tickets laying around.

Damn you Sean, stop f’king around, you’re almost at the 50 minute mark. HEH. Due to high demand, when I’m really bored, and since I’m unemployed again, I’ll put up a table of all the penalty minutes. And if I’m really, really bored I’ll list out all of the infractions. I have no life, I need a job badly. <^> to the economy… sleeeep….

Great effort last night, and I do mean GREAT. After what seemed like an inevitable loss, we all pulled through and kept fighting. Sure it wasn’t a ”W” but it was a HARD earned upset to the other team who was up 4-1 in the 2nd period. One of the other team’s goals was blatently kicked in but the stupid refs allowed it. WTF is with that.

I had too many close chances last night. One was right in front of the goal, I saw through the five hole the puck just sitting there behind the goalie, but I was too far and the whistle blew. Another was a fast wrister from close range and just passed above the goal by about 2-3 inches, too close. In the third period I had the puck and bobbed and weaved past two guys and made a dash to the net, a third guy comes from nowhere and crosschecks me in the helmet giving me a bruise/scratch thing on my forehead. But what hurt more then was the fact that my helmet came all the way up and hit the arch of my nose, I blacked out as I skated passed the bench. Somehow, I was called for a slash penalty. Stupid… I hope all will be well for the 11:15PM game on Monday.
