Summer Hockey

TEAMS 1st 2nd 3rd TOTAL Shots On Goal
Misfits 1 0 0 1 ?
Ice Pirates 1 1 0 2 ?

Today started the pre-season of my summer hockey league at Logitech Ice. Yes, I know, it’s barely spring. Well, I’ll keep it brief, I managed to get a penalty in the second for interferance. Which is BS, the guy was like a foot or so taller, and hit me and he fell, which earned me the penalty. Funny thing is, if I were to fall, there would be NO call. Why am I so sure? It already had happened in the first period when I got leveled and there was no call. Basically, I didn’t do much, like most games. I had a pretty good scoring chance, and I use the term lightly, where I wrapped around the goal and passed it right up front of the goal to my dad’s cousin Gary, and I guess he wasn’t expecting it and the puck went past him. Oh, well good attempt. It’s still pre-season, and we have a couple of GOOD new people, so I’m glad we got this loss out of the way. We’ll do better next time.

Sleeping With Welts

Sleeping with welts on your upper thighs is NOT fun. Yesterday I went paintballing with a couple of the guys and I think I’m getting better. I managed a 4 kill round. I have a few small welts on my right arm, and two BIG welts on my upper thighs, one on each side. So yeah, it’s not fun sleeping with welts.

Well, at least I’m getting a good workout when I go out there. Not only is it a lot of running up and down hills, but I also sweat a lot because of the heat out in the open. I am sooooooo sore today, I can barely walk. I don’t know when the last time I felt like this after hockey.

I think I’m addicted. I don’t know if it’s the shooting paintballs at moving targets, the thrill of being someones moving target, or somthing else. I hope I get a job soon, this sport is going to get expensive…

Scary [Vid]

Phillip’s demented. I stole this from his profile on AIM. moO, don’t watch it. It would scare you, even if you watched it during the day with a group of people and it was Christmas and everyone was happy and/or singing songs… It’s some sort of Japanese horror movie trailer. Can anyone give me a good synopsis and/or a translation? Crazy.

Landslide

Holy crap. One of my current favorite songs, Landslide covered by the Dixie Chicks, was ALSO covered by Smashing Pumpkins. I won’t upload it here since I’m sure anyone who REALLY cares has KaZaA or the like and would DL it themselves. That version is… interesting, to say the least. I think I grew up with Fleetwood Mac. My mom used to play them. I wonder if we actually have a CD or something with that song…

War and Laughs [Link]

Ok, since everyone else is blogging about the war, perhaps I should. I don’t usually bore everyone with redundancies that everyone else talks about. I usually bore everyone with boring hockey stories.

So, yeah, I think it’s funny when people write stuff like, ”Bush is stupid for even think he can start a war.” or just a plain ”Bush is stupid.” The first is only half right. Secondly, who ever thinks that Bush has ALL the power to start a war is just as stupid as our very own Dubbya… Sure he can push the ”button” but the decision is passed between other people besides him. So, there, my little knowledge I can recall from 6 years ago government.

Now for some laughs. Check out the US Department of Laughs. Pretty Funny. One of my favorites is the one with Michael Jackson. This page is a lot like another site that used to be up called Instructo Toons. Hrm… I still have it linked. Maybe, I’ll just leave it up for nostalgia…

Ghirardelli Pt. 2 [Pics] [Link]

Yesterday was my sister’s actual birthday. We took a limo to Ghirardelli Square to eat at the McCormick and Kuleto’s in the Ghirardelli Square. In the car we watched an old childhood favorite of mine, ”Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure”. You know it’s sad when you can remember all of the lines to a Pee-Wee movie…

This place didn’t seem as fancy as the one we went to on Friday; regardless, this time I got half my mom’s lobster and ordered a filet mignon with scalloped potatoes. I did NOT order any Caesar salad tho. However, all of the food was infested with fungi… I am, of course, referring to my arch-nemesis, mushrooms. Mushrooms were everywhere. The restaraunt even tried to hide it underneath a layer of potatos! Try and trick me will ya….

While there I tried another lemon drop. I don’t think the waiter thought I was over 21, cause the drink tasted oddly too much like plain lemonade. I made up for it at dessert when I ordered an apple crisp and a glass of Hennesey XO… The waiter stuttered for a minute when he asked me if I’d prefer a VS or something else. I replied with, ”The XO is fine, thanks.” Well, when the bill came my mom’s eyes grew as she mouthed to me ”TWENTY-NINE DOLLARS?” Hrm… Maybe I should learn to look at the prices before I order drinks that are ”recommended” with the dessert… I guess I made up for the crappy watered down drinks I got with moO…

Family Sunday B-Day Party [Pics]

Sunday was my sister’s family birthday party. We went up to Dublin to my maternal grandparents house. As soon as I got there I stuffed myself with meatballs ’cause I didn’t have much time before my cut-off time where I couldn’t eat before hockey. Yeah, I had hockey that same day. My mom claims I didn’t even tell her about the playoffs… mmmhhhmmmmmm sure… So my short time there, the cousins and the siblings hung out in the ”kids” room playing with the piano and any other stuff we could get our hands on, including throwing an empty Yoplait yogurt cup at each other and have it splatter all over the walls. I couldn’t even stay for food, presents or cake… Basically, I wasn’t there for anything LOL.

Before you ask, someone always does. The baby below is NOT my child. LOL. This is Hayley, my cousin. On the far right holding her, is my sister, Tanya.

Friday Day Trip To SF [Pics]

It started out a drab yucky Friday when moO and I drove to SF to meet up with her HS chums and their BFs. We walked around Ghirardelli Square, and at the shop moO had a mocha and we both had a chocolate covered strawberry.

We met up with Yuko and Olivia and their BFs at a restaurant that I’m not allowed to disclose almost around the corner from Ghirardelli Square. It was definitely upper class though. I was really craving the lobster, but, duh, do I have the money? Definitely not. I took one look at the menu and asked moO if she wanted to share a plate. Her reply was that it would be too jankie if we did. Later in the night we find out that the couple with the most money and had jobs shared a platter, I then turned to moO with a dirty look like, ”WTF? We could have saved some money and shared a plate.” But, then again, I am a hard person to share anything with. I got the pesto with some noodles which was really good.

But, before dinner, I ordered the Caesar salad that I THOUGHT was safe. I took one bite of my salad and chewed slower and slower, and moO looked at me and knew what I was going to say next. ”It tastes a little fishy…” was my response to the salad. Who knew it would have anchovies in it? Well, I knew that the Caesar dressing is made from Worcestershire Sauce and is made with anchovies too. But, no where on the menu did it list that there were bits of anchovies in the salad. All the other restaurants that I’ve EVER been to had anchovies in it. Then again how many upper class citizens eat at Carrows…

I had 3 drinks that night. I started with a Cosmo (Cranberry Martini), then went to the Adam-standard Lemon Drop. I was disappointed with both of those drinks as they tasted watered down. Olivia agreed, she got an Appletini and it, too, was watered down. I decided for my 3rd and final drink a Midori Sour. It turned out all right. I was just having a bad day with food… Well, at least the chocolate strawberries were good!
