Holy crap. Patrick Marleau (You know, he’s on the Sharks) was drafted from the Seattle Thunderbirds in ’98.

Not a bad part time job, oh well.
Washington
So, my brother, Phillip, is fine, nothing out of the ordinary. But, he didn’t get to play his last tournament game. He had to watch from the bench. Oddly, they managed to beat the West Vancouver team. The Canadian team was already in the finals, so, I’m guessing that their game together didn’t matter and didn’t play to their full potential. Hell, even if I had a game that didn’t matter, why not play to win. I wouldn’t want a loss on my tournament record. F them, the Blackhawks (My brother’s team) wouldn’t let the game go and played their hardest and came out on top.
Today seemed like a long day. The team woke up to eat at IHOP at like 9am. That’s damn early for me, but this weekend I’ve been up at about 8am every day, so it’s ok. I musta scarffed down a ton of food, ’cause I didn’t feel too well after that. I ate some pigs-in-a-blanket, hash browns, ham, and sausages. Everything. I seldom eat too. Must’a been hungry.
After, we stopped over at the ice rink to check out the finals between the two Canadian teams. Being the ass I am, I yelled out ”GO CANADA,” knowing that both teams were from Canada. One of the mom’s from our team (lol, like it’s my team, whatever) looked at me funny. It was a pretty even and good-to-watch/interesting game. All even after the 3rd period it went into sudden-death overtime. Both teams fought hard, but the Canada team came up on top. Sorry, if that wasn’t funny… to make things easier, the team that beat our team 6-0 took the championship. Bah, everyone was rooting for the team we beat 2-1. I din’t really care, LOL. I just like watching hockey. It be a better game if it were some USA vs. Canada team at least. Whatteva!
After that we went over to Downtown Seattle to check it out. I have only a few things to say about Washington. Have enough Starsucks and Subways here? I know Starsucks came from here, I didn’t know if Subway did. I don’t even like Subway, them and their jankie 4 slices of meat and cheese. Support your local Togo’s today. We went through the Pikes Place, some outside market thingamajig. We got to see the famous fish throwing place. Sorry, I’m not too good with names. So, there… At the market they had tiles paved into the ground where you can have your name engraved into it. I thought that was a pretty cool idea, hardly the thing I’d spend my money on, but neat none the less. After wandering about, we sat down to eat at the local Quizno’s whilst the ‘rents ate at some oyster place, I think it was Brooklyn Seafood. I dun eat oysters, so toasted ‘wiches sounded good. After eating at Quizno’s, the ‘rents weren’t finished dining at their snot-in-a-shell restaurant, so we sat outside in the rain. It was ok because we entertained ourselves with the fountains outside a Metro. I forget what that place was called, maybe some ”remembrance stone” or something. We spent time tossing coins into the fountains trying to skip it into a lower fountain then onto passing cars. Then some how got to the point where one of us would hold a Quizno’s cup and pretend to be homeless while one person would knock over the homeless person and steal his money, ala Jackass style. As we were setting this up the ‘rents came out of the restaurant. Bah. That’s how it always is.
After which, we hung out at the airport to see off a big part of the team. While there we saw a bunch of news crews roaming around looking for people who were stuck there because of that big storm on the east coast. I decided it would be funny if the reporters came up to me I’d say, ”Yes, I’m going to the east coast. I’m flying to Hawaii. now, I’m stuck.” Lucky for me AND them, I was never asked. There was a guy napping with a baby on his shoulder close to us and he got filmed for a few secs. Later my parents saw him on TV. Man, I was so close. While checking in one teammate, there was a camera aimed toward our direction (maybe we WERE on TV after all!), I so wanted to scream out the annoying ”Bill Cosby” impersonation we’ve heard all day. Heh, I didn’t, but it would have been pretty funny to see on the news!
Tomorrow, we leave for home. It couldn’t come any sooner. Getting out of the city is cool (I never really get out of the city, let alone state), but home is better, despite the ever so comfortable hotel room beds (I sleep on a futon). We were gonna go drive to Canada but we didn’t have birth certs or passports and didn’t wanna risk not being able to come back, I kept saying, ”Bah, let’s just go. It ain’t friggin’ Mexico…” LOL. Bah, maybe next time. I really wanted to go to Canada. YOU’RE gonna bring me next time, eH? Time to watch the replay of the Sharks game on ESPN before I go to sleep. Everyone wish me a safe flight home and I’ll talk to you then.
Bill Cosby/Simpsons/Pok
Sorry, I just HAD to share this with everyone in my portal on the wired. It’s ”Bill Cosby” on the Simpsons when he talks to a child about Pok
Hospital
If you read the last post first you’d probably be wondering, ”Hospital, why is Adam at the hospital?” If you haven’t read it, read it. We had to go to the hospital after the game to have my brother checked out for any injuries, just in case. In the second period he was checked twice in a row, the second one was checked into the boards crippling him to his knees. The guy got a boarding 5 minute major penalty for that. Needless to say, he was both tired and pissed off. During this game with the Canadian team, they got their asses handed to them 6-0. In the game was a bunch of penalties and retaliation penalties from both teams. When the score was 5-0 one of the Canadian players blatently wraps his arm around one of our players and wrenches him down to the ice. The both got penalties, one for holding, the other for (I think) unsportsmanlike conduct. I’ll let your imagination go with that one… After this game I’m sure they’re out of the running for the championship game on Monday, which leaves only one game left tonight, but it doesn’t really matter anymore. So, we pretty much have 2 free days in Washington. Any ideas of what I should go see?
Interesting Phone in Washington [Pics]
Bah, I’m using dial-up just to write this… I found an odd phone in the Bellvue Hospital. It’s a web browser/high speed access/pay phone. Ok, so it may be old and I’ve just never seen one, but that’s just it; I’ve never seen one. I thought it was the coolest thing, I even tried it out. Or, at least tried to try it out. Costing only fifrty cents for the first two minutes and a quarter every additional minutes seemed like a good price for a quick blog. However, for some reason it wasn’t working correctly. I couldn’t log into my blog, nor could I even see my index. Oh well, I got some cool pictures of it.
Seattle Thunderbirds [Pics] [Vids] [Links]
”I went to a fight today, and a hockey game broke out.” But, more on that later…
Tonight, we went to a minor league hockey game (Yeah, like I’ve had enough hockey yet) between the Seattle Thunderbirds and the Lethbridge Hurricanes. While not a very stimulating game at first, being completely one sided and ending with a score of 10-1; but I HAVE to say, it was THE BEST hockey game I’ve EVER seen! Why such a strong remark? Well, when you’re behind 9 points you and your team get a little frustrated, hard to NOT understand and sympathize. However, this usually leads to penalties, and usually the really fun-to-watch kind. I, of course, am talking about fights! Penalty after penalty was called, but not buy just one team, but both. Which goes to show, don’t retaliate when you get checked, tripped, whatnot.
The best part in this game was mostly the last 5, or so, minutes of the game. In those minutes, the game was practically dragged out to about a half an hour because of some cool fights. The highlight of the game was during a fight and basically everyone was paired off and the refs lost all control, I saw the guest goalie take off his helmet and started to skate away from his crease, at first I thought he was skating to the bench, but then he passed the center circle and skated toward the home goalie and started another fight. We actually got some good footage of that. The first one is only 5 seconds because my brother didn’t know where the zoom was. The second is 15 seconds. That was the first time I’ve ever seen or heard of a goalie fight. But when you’re getting scored on so much in one game, you really have nothing to lose. It was GREAT! There were 58 penalties called in that game. Who ever said minor leage hockey is boring!?
In Washington
I’m now in Washington, in case you haven’t heard. I managed to get broadband in my Hilton hotel room, YAY. $9.95/Day 12pm-12pm, lame. So I can keep you updated with my mundane life. I’d give you the 360 QuickTime, but my uncle is sleeping. Maybe later.
I have my little ”birdie” here with me. That’s what we named my laptop webcam. I think I shoulda brought my desktop webcam, ’cause it has a button on the top so I can take pictures by just clicking the button. Why is that important? I can take unlimited lame webcam pics without having my laptop out and open, and just leave it in my backpack and just click. Lame, yes, I know.
In case you didn’t know, I’m here to watch my brother’s ice hockey tournament. Two games down so far. Last night he lost against the Seattle team, leaving one of his teammates injured on his first shift (he’ll most likely play tomorrow). This morning at 10, he went against the L.A. team, who is in the same hotel, and came out on top 5-0. I forgot to mention, we watched this L.A. team play yesterday, and got their asses kicked something like 10-0. After today’s game, we watched their next adversaries, a Canadian team. And we all know Canada is known for good hockey teams. They were so-so. We’ll see tomorrow morning. Tomorrow, they have a ”double-header;” one game in the morning, and one in the evening.
BTW, I uploaded one of my clips. It’s a clip of the only goal I’ve scored in this season. Sure I had a goal pre-season, but that doesn’t really count. Sure it’s not pretty, no puck handle & no dekes, but I scored! That’s what really matters.
Things I’ve lost, so far: Sony earbuds & Fossil Watch…
Holy Crap, Remember Velocity X?
If anyone can remember, sometime several years ago, I was part of a racing/show-off crew. We called ourselves Velocity X Racing. Here’s the funny ass part: There’s now a video game called Hot Wheels: Velocity X. I kid you not! You can go see for yourself. I think one of us should sue, LOL. I have proof. Here is our old crew’s website. You can tell I was still playing with HTML. I even have 2 t-shirts with our logo. I’m getting my lawyer!
High Thai
Anyone remember that restraunt next to the Jack-In-The-Box on Prospect? Yeah, it isn’t there anymore. Now, it’s some Mexican restraunt. I swear, that place is cursed or something. I remember it’s been something new like every year. One year, I think it was some sushi bar or something. Can anyone remember what else that stupid thing was?
